Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) National Congress 2022

Founded in 1917 and granted a Royal Charter in 1932, the RACI is the professional body for the chemical sciences in Australia. It acts both as the qualifying body in Australia for professional chemists and as a learned society promoting the science and practice of chemistry.

The RACI hosts a National Congress every five years, rotating the location to different states throughout the country. Each congress is chaired by a representative from the host state, who is responsible for overseeing the organisation and coordination of the event. In addition to the main congress, there are 17 divisions within the RACI that also participate in the conference by planning and hosting their own symposium sessions. This allows for a diverse range of scientific topics to be covered and provides opportunities for members of the community to come together and share their knowledge.

Key outcomes

Expert Events successfully managed one of its largest conferences in 2022, with a record number of speakers and delegates.
Ten concurrent sessions running simultaneously over five days and the implementation of formal presentations during catering breaks in the exhibition hall, set the congress apart from previous events.
By utilising our industry experience and leveraging established relationships with the venue and suppliers, Expert Events was able to overcome challenges brought on by the pandemic resulting in a positive outcome for the committee and a successful event.
